A session years in the making!


Some photography sessions are just another day’s work, but others are filled with layers of personal meaning — and this one was extra special. Eric isn’t just any senior stepping in front of my camera. He’s the son of my best friend since 4th grade, and I’ve had the privilege of watching him grow from a curious, adventurous kid into the young man he is today.


We scheduled Eric’s senior photos for golden hour — that magical time when the light filters softly through the trees, painting everything in warm, glowing tones. I chose a wooded setting, knowing it would give us both variety and a timeless feel. Between the tall oaks and pines, rustling leaves, and the sun dipping lower in the sky, the scene felt like it had been waiting for us.


Eric came ready — relaxed, confident, and with a few subtle nods to his personality in his outfit choices. It was the perfect combination of style and authenticity, letting his character shine without feeling overly staged.


Senior portraits are about so much more than a smile for the yearbook. They’re a celebration of who someone is in this moment, balanced with the story of how they got here. For Eric, every frame felt like a snapshot of a journey I’d witnessed firsthand. I could still picture him as the little boy playing in the backyard, yet here he was — taller than me, ready to head out into the world.


There’s something incredibly powerful about photographing people you know and love. The connection makes the images feel richer, more layered. This session wasn’t just about great lighting and flattering angles — it was about preserving the emotion of a milestone we all knew was coming, but still somehow arrived too soon.


Congratulations, Eric - you’re stepping into an exciting new chapter, and I know you’ll face it with the same heart, determination, and curiosity you’ve always had. Thank you for letting me be part of such a big moment. I can’t wait to see where life takes you next.
